Course Description

Focusing on safe operations of scissor lifts and articulated lifts, including the proper use of personal fall protection systems, proper use of signal persons, and how to respond to emergency situations. Includes both classroom and hands-on training.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course a student will be able to:

  1. Understand requirements such as OSHA regulations and ANSI standards
  2. Understand the operational characteristics of aerial lifts (both scissor lifts and articulated lifts)
  3. Understand the limitations and hazards associated with aerial lifts
  4. Complete required inspections of aerial lifts
  5. Ground Personnel Hazards
  6. Understand fall protection and prevention requirements for aerial lifts
  7. Understand emergency situations and rescue methods
  8. Understand the characteristics of Personal Fall Protection Systems (PFPS)
  9. Properly “fit” a Personal Fall Protection System to yourself
  10. Operate aerial lifts efficiently and safely
