Course Description

Prepare workers to identify hazards & work safely in confined spaces & permit-required confined spaces, focusing on atmospheric hazards, physical hazards, roles and responsibilities, proper use of equipment, and emergency response methods and techniques. Includes both classroom and hands-on training.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course a student will be able to:

  1. Understand legal requirements such as OSHA regulations and ANSI standards.
  2. Understand the characteristics that define both confined spaces and permit required confined spaces.
  3. Understand atmospheric and physical hazards associated with confined spaces.
  4. Understand the roles and responsibilities for the confined space team.

  6. Understand various equipment associated with confined space entry.
  7. Recognize emergency situations and how to safely respond.
  8. Understand various techniques required for rescue based on the specific characteristics of the confined space.
