Course Description

Introductory course on basic-level industrial networking.  This course is focused on TCP/IP and the Allen Bradley Stratix line of switches.  Participants will learn network topology, limits of ethernet, cable construction, troubleshooting techniques, and Stratix Switch configuration.

Course Objectives

At the end of this course, students should be able to:

  1. Understand the basics of networking and network topologies.
  2. Basic network design.
  3. How to construct an ethernet crossover cable.
  4. Understand the basics of TCP/IP.
  5. Introduction to subnetting.
  6. Use basic tools to troubleshoot a network.
  7. Be familiar with the Stratix switch, and its configuration.
